Choosing a program that is right for you depends on your goals and your current level of English.
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced speaker of English, the Language Unit has courses to help you improve your command of the language. Choosing a program is about what you are hoping to achieve whilst studying at the Language Unit. We can help.
a. General English
General English classes are for learners from beginners to advanced levels. General English is a pathway to all other English language programs at the Language Unit.
You will develop your ability to communicate clearly in English along with a variety of useful language skills including:
- reading and understanding different types of English texts
- writing clearly and accurately
- taking part with ease in conversations and discussions
- listening to and understanding different varieties of spoken English
- speaking clearly and fluently with easily understood pronunciation
- using grammar and vocabulary to convey meaning well
Timetables
The Language Unit runs dual timetables for mainstream programs, including General English. Students will either study a morning program from 6.45am – 8.45am or an afternoon program from 2.45pm – 4.45pm for two weeks.
